Guests on the Kolkata to Kolkata tour will assemble at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport, Kolkata, as per the scheduled flight departure. Upon reaching Hanoi, Vietnam’s capital with a millennium of history, we explore the Ho Chi Minh Complex, featuring monuments and botanical gardens. Highlights include the One Pillar Pagoda, an exceptional wooden structure on a single stone pillar resembling a lotus, and the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first national university dating back to the 11th century. The day concludes with an overnight stay in Hanoi.
Today, we set out for Halong Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its emerald waters and myriad limestone islands. Upon arrival, we head to the jetty, complete cruise check-in formalities, and embark on our voyage. While cruising towards the Dark and Light caves, lunch is served onboard. Exploration of the caves is facilitated by small boats or kayaks, catering to those with an adventurous spirit. Passing by Dinh Huong Island and Ga Choi Islands, we pause for a swim in the crystal-clear waters amid stunning scenery. The evening offers a cooking demonstration with Spring Rolls or Fruit Carving, followed by optional squid fishing or relaxation on the top deck after dinner.
Our morning commences with a Tai Chi session, a gentle exercise melding deep breathing with unhurried movements. Post-refreshment, we embark on a brief excursion to Trung Trang Cave on Cat Ba Island, engaging in a light trek and marveling at the captivating beauty of ancient stalactites. Back on the cruise, breakfast is savored while taking in the scenic bay view. Subsequently, we disembark and head to Hanoi airport for a flight to Da Nang, the commercial and educational hub of Central Vietnam. Upon arrival, we witness the Dragon Bridge and other illuminated bridges gracing the Han River.
Today, our journey takes us to Sun World Ba Na Hills. We traverse one of the city’s most picturesque routes, arriving at the Ba Na Hills cable car station. Enjoy a cable car ride, providing breathtaking vistas of Da Nang city and the surrounding forests. Our first stop is the iconic Golden Bridge, a gracefully curved structure supported by colossal hands. Explore additional attractions including Le Jardin, the Wax Museum, French Village, Pagodas, and the Alpine Coaster. A delightful international buffet lunch awaits at Ba Na Hills. After descending by cable car, we visit Marble Mountains, housing limestone caves with shrines of Lord Buddha, followed by Monkey Mountain for a view of Linh Ung Pagoda and Lady Buddha, a 67-meter tall white statue representing the Goddess of Mercy.
Today, we visit Hoi An, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its well-preserved architecture and traditions. At Cam Thanh Coconut Village, experience a unique basket boat ride and enjoy a walking city tour featuring a 400-year-old Covered Bridge, Phung Hung Ancient House, and the Fujian assembly hall. Explore tailor shops in the tailoring capital of the world. In the evening, witness the magical glow of lanterns illuminating the town. Conclude the day with a Lantern Boat Ride on the Hoai River before returning to Da Nang.
Today, we fly to Ho Chi Minh City, a dynamic metropolis steeped in cultural heritage. Upon arrival, our journey takes us to the Cu Chi Tunnels, a strategic base during the American War due to its vital location. The Vietcong constructed a 200km network of tunnels, connecting command posts, hospitals, shelters, and weapon factories. Meticulously dug by hand tools without cement, this impressive network remained undiscovered by the Americans and the South Vietnamese government. In the evening, we return to the vibrant atmosphere of Ho Chi Minh City.
Today, we journey to My Tho City, where our first stop is the Vinh Trang Pagoda, a Buddhist temple of cultural significance. A boat ride through the Mekong River Delta, known as the rice bowl of Vietnam, unveils a vibrant tapestry of towns along the riverbanks. Disembarking at Unicorn Island, we explore the Honey Tea Farm and Fruit Farm, serenaded by local musicians. A traditional boat ride in a narrow, tree-lined canal offers rowing experiences, followed by a visit to a local coconut candy factory. Our journey continues to Phoenix Island for a taste of traditional Vietnamese cuisine before returning to the city, where free time is allocated for shopping upon arrival.
Today, our exploration takes us through Ho Chi Minh City. We commence with a visit to the War Crime Museum, housing an extensive collection of machinery, weapons, photos, and documentation from the Vietnam War, spanning both the French and American conflicts. Subsequently, we tour the Reunification Palace, Dame Cathedral, the Old Sai Gon Post Office, the former US Embassy, and Cho Lon, which includes the Thien Hau Pagoda. Late Evening we check in at the airport for our Journey Home
