Overnight Cappadocia
Day 4 begins at a relaxed pace, starting with breakfast and checkout from our hotel, followed by an engaging city tour of Cappadocia. Known for its iconic ‘fairy chimneys,’ Cappadocia offers a mesmerizing landscape of towering rock formations sculpted over millions of years. These natural wonders, formed from volcanic ash that solidified into soft rock, were shaped by erosion, leaving behind striking structures that reach up to 130 feet, creating an otherworldly panorama.
Our exploration continues with a visit to the remarkable underground cities of Kaymaklı or Derinkuyu, ancient subterranean refuges painstakingly carved by hand to protect inhabitants from persecution. We then proceed to the Ihlara Valley, renowned for its natural beauty and dramatic canyon, as well as its churches adorned with unique frescoes that reflect the region’s religious and cultural heritage. Our journey concludes with a stop in Avanos, a town famous for its long-standing pottery-making tradition, where time-honored techniques and styles are still practiced, offering insight into the area’s rich artisanal history.
In the evening, we will transfer to Kayseri Airport for our flight to Izmir. Upon arrival in Izmir around midnight, we will check into our hotel in Kusadasi and retire for the night.

The day starts with a leisurely late breakfast. We’ll proceed to Pamukkale, a destination famed for its natural wonders. Pamukkale, located in western Turkey, is celebrated for its thermal waters, which cascades down a series of white travertine terraces on a hillside, creating a breathtaking spectacle. Adjacent to Pamukkale is Hierapolis, an ancient Roman spa city established around 190 B.C. The site is home to an array of ruins, including a remarkably preserved theatre and a necropolis with sarcophagi that extend for over 2 kilometres. Noteworthy among its ruins is the Antique Pool, where submerged Roman columns, the aftermath of an earthquake, can be found. The thermal springs of Pamukkale are renowned for their healing properties, attracting visitors for centuries who seek the therapeutic benefits of its mineral-rich waters. The terraces, aptly nicknamed the Cotton Castle, feature naturally formed thermal pools, presenting an ethereal landscape that captivates all who visit. After immersing ourselves in the serenity and beauty of Pamukkale, we will return to our hotel in Kusadasi, where we will spend the night, wrapping up another day of our journey with peaceful rest.
After breakfast, we’ll check out of our hotel and embark on a journey along Turkey’s western Aegean coast, crossing the Gulf of Kusadasi to reach the Greek island of Samos. Welcome to Greece! Upon disembarking, we’ll take a short ten-minute walk along the shore to visit the Samos Museum. Next, we’ll continue our journey with a ferry ride to Mykonos, seamlessly connecting the enchanting Aegean islands. Upon arrival in Mykonos, renowned for its lively nightlife, picturesque Cycladic architecture, and stunning beaches, we’ll transfer to our hotel. Here, we’ll settle in for a restful overnight stay, preparing for the adventures that await in this iconic Greek destination.

After breakfast, we will head to the Mykonos port to board a ferry to Santorini. During the summer, there are up to eight daily crossings between Mykonos and Santorini, with peak ferry service running from late March through October. The journey covers 64 nautical miles (approximately 118 km), starting from the new port of Mykonos at Tourlos and ending at the port of Athinios in Santorini. Upon arrival, we will transfer to our hotel to settle in for an overnight stay, ready to continue our adventure in this stunning island destination.

After breakfast, we will visit Akrotiri, a charming village on the island of Santorini, Greece. Located 15 kilometers south of Fira, the island’s capital, Akrotiri is perched on the slopes of a hill, offering stunning views of the caldera cliffs. At the hill’s summit, you’ll find the ruins of a Venetian castle (Goulas), a historical site that provides insight into the island’s rich past. After Breakfast Embark on a captivating city tour of Athens, guided by a local expert. This panoramic journey will highlight the city’s most remarkable landmarks and vibrant culture. Visit the stately Presidential Palace, the iconic Panathinaikos Stadium—the site of the first modern Olympic Games, and the grand National Library. Explore the lively squares and dynamic neighbourhoods that have evolved since the 2004 Olympic Games, showcasing a blend of historical heritage and modern development.
The tour will culminate at the Acropolis, an ancient citadel offering breathtaking views and housing several significant historic structures. As evening falls, we’ll head to the charming Plaka quarter, known for its quaint Greek taverns nestled among narrow streets and overshadowed by the Acropolis.
